although it appears complete, is still an approximation as compared to the actual relaxation processes in such complex systems. On the one hand, the Cole Cole equation (Eq. 1) is used to describe the distribution of relaxation times while discussing the electric permittivity data.

It can handle larger fish but the http://www.cheapjerseys-nfl.com little ones can’t get away either because the rod is so sensitive and transmits the slightest fish movement through the rod to your hand. I suppose I could get another rod, but this is doing me just fine so far.

RAW:
We look at them everyday and at times they look either pretty or pretty bland. In fact, the y pose the power to tease your creativity for you to inspire others. Still life in everyday items are often regarded as boring to shoot but we had a plan to use one remedy… simplicity. Now, we all have the habit to shop – from home deco, cutlery, food stuff and heck, even stuff we hardly use. Fact is, we are all guilty of our habits, the men and their gadgets, cars or simply at the bar enjoying their favourite bourbon and the women folk with all things pretty and you can’t say otherwise without getting a ‘death stare’. Now that we’ve got all these stuff (and always with the desire somewhere secretly in the back of our minds to get more), it’s high time for these reward you back. Yes you’ve probably work to get them and the final mile is to work a little harder to photograph them to make them work for you in return – sounds like a lot of work eh? probably not – hence, we applied our ‘simplicity’ rule to make all things boring look good, just as the product and brands made it look good for you to purchase them in the first place.

TECH & SETUP:

Camera, flash attached with a snoot & honeycomb, to direct the light onto a single spot on a light stand, a tripod, black and white either cloth or paper backdrops (velvet cloth is best). Set your backdrop on a table against a wall and drape the wall and the table with your desired backdrop, duct tape them in place, place your light on either side depending on you subject. Sync your camera & you flash. Position your subject, light and camera for desired result. Shoot away with a cable release & if you don’t have one, use the timer, ultimately to minimize shakes.

What is Light Painting?

Defined by Wikipedia as:

“Light painting, also known as light drawing or light graffiti is a photographic technique in which exposures are made usually at night or in a darkened room by moving a hand-held light source or by moving the camera. In many cases the light source itself does not have to appear in the image. The term light painting also encompasses images lit from outside the frame with hand-held light sources. The first known photographer to use this technique was Man Ray in his series “Space Writing” created in 1935. The photographer Ellen Carey discovered Man Ray’s signature signed by penlight nearly 74 years after the pictures had been taken”

CAN YOU ZIG IT?

For the second time running, Reebok of RSH Malaysia gave Full Circle the opportunity to explore the wonders of light graffiti with the public in a huge dark room setup in the centre of a shopping mall. The event itself took three days, and runners came to try out the new ZigTech running shoes and to participate in a 48 hours treadmill challenge. There were runners running on the treadmills all the time, even while most Malaysians were sound asleep in bed.

Throughout the event, the light graffiti was affectionately known as ‘ZigIt’ and this concept was created by the creative minds of the Wheel Love crew (WL33.com). The concept of ‘ZigIt’ gelled perfectly with the Reebok ZigTech running shoes. This time around, it was open to public and more than 150 people had the time of their lives creating tremendous amount of ‘Zigs’.

Apart from working the camera in the pitch dark with two off camera flashes, there was lots of fueling up on coffee & Red Bull, as the crew needed to stay on their feet throughout the day to create art with the public.  If, you’d like to see how it was done, we’ve got a ‘behind the scenes’ picture here too. Drop us a line if you still can’t ‘ZigIt’!

Also, check out the video edited by Jules here…. We had a Magic Arm which we attached to a Reebok bicycle, and oh, what fun it was to ride a bicycle in the mall in the middle of the day…. He he.

jit @ KLPF 2010

At the recent KLPF (29th October 2010) and Pikom PC Fair (15th December 2010) , Sanjit presented his talk in regards to his photographic journey through Danum Valley using the Olympus E3 DSLR camera.

He took a 10 day trip there with one quest, to photograph a wild Orang Utan. He had great expectations of his Orang Utan photo, a primate swinging through the trees, full of expression and antics. A real National Geographic moment shot.

During his trip, Sanjit managed to capture some great images of the endemic primates, such as the Red Leaf monkeys.

Days went by and only towards the last day, Sanjit finally managed to capture a picture of an Orang Utan….. fast asleep on a tree!

Though he has experience working as a travel writer and photographer, he is most passionate about wildlife photography. Interestingly, for years this young photographer did not own a camera of his own. Today he is sponsored by Olympus Malaysia.

A gifted photographer, Sanjit has received much recognition for his artistic work through photography contests such as:

1)      Malaysian Nature Society’s Raptor Watch’s Wildframe Photography Contest 2008

2)      World Lupus Day, Anything Butterfly 2007 (Merit Award)

3)      BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2005 (Semifinalist)

4)      BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2006 (Semifinalist)

5)      Winner for the best photograph, in the ‘One Earth Award’, The Wildlife Photographer of the Year Award 2008, hosted by the National Zoo.

RAW:

Our good friends from Olympus called us some time ago and said that we had some serious testing to do. A new and what I would consider as one of the most ‘hardcore’ top of the line DSLRs they’ve ever produced. Indeed, with that warning in mind, we ripped the streets with total creative freedom in minimal time.

How did we do it?

Use a phone – We buzzed a couple of friends and they rocked as models. We also had behind the scenes crew that offered help from ‘borrowing’ shopping carts, climbing trees, shooting the behind the scenes, hosing down a model and being drenched in water for more than 2 hours!

Use of brains – Given total creative freedom we figured to produce an advertising style image for this ‘monster’ of a camera and since it was still an IP set, we worked our way around a couple of kinks to achieve what you see here.

TECH:

We geared up with the Olympus E-5, a wide zoom lens, a tele zoom lens and a standard 50mm lens, a tonne of batteries of all sorts, tripods, lighting stands, reflectors, two electronic flashes & a circus troop of friends. We sandwiched ‘the victims / models’ between the lights and messed with the reflector when necessary. Very basic photography with brilliant outcomes!

e-5 diagramOne of our models’ feedback:

“I was the poor victim destined to be drenched. Well, I did agree to it! The shoot is not as easy as it looks for the model cause it was done at night and when they stopped pouring/hosing water on to me, between shots when the photographer was busy previewing his shots, it felt so very cold! Prune looking fingers happen very quickly too and it can look ugly in the picture, so make sure if you do this, make it a short shoot! Keeping your eyes open when there is water being poured on you is very difficult. So, I kept my eyes closed until I was asked to open them, just for the shot. But with eyes closed, it still turned out pretty well!”

Our favorite wildlife photographer, Sanjitpaal Singh has recently been bestowed the honor of being one of the very few people to handle the latest Olympus DSLR E-5, before it hits the Malaysian market.

Due to arrive in November 2010, this camera was put to the test by Sanjit and this time, there were no wildlife involved! Gasp! That’s right. Sanjit attempted something different instead.  All we can say is that there was lots of water and women. Interesting eh? 😉

Here’s a sneak preview to what is upcoming. Stay tuned, we’ll be putting up lots of pictures and reviews on the Olympus E-5. If you want more, make sure you head down to the Kuala Lumpur Photo Fest 29th to 31st October 2010, Mid Valley Exhibition Centre, to attend a talk by Sanjit for his reviews on the E-5.
